TriQuint Ramps Production of New 3G Polar EDGE PAM for More Than 15 Customers : Latest Power Amplifier Module Sets Industry Standard in Size, Cost a

HILLSBORO, Ore. (Business Wire EON) July 14, 2008 -- The TQM7M5012 is built with TriQuint's patented CuFlip? technology, a packaging technique that enables a more compact solution. When paired with an industry standard-WEDGE front-end module, the total solution is smaller, uses fewer components and is less expensive compared to existing solutions in the market, which use a 6x7mm WEDGE transmit module plus multiple GSM Rx SAW filters. Strategy Analytics noted in its June 2008 report on PA Market Growth that TriQuint "continues to shrink the PA, accomplishing new standards for small size with its CuFlip? copper bump flip-chip technology, SAW and BAW filters and GaAs technology processes.1"

The TQM7M5012 offers world-class current consumption and Rx band noise performance enabling longer talk-time and better thermal efficiencies while eliminating the need for additional low-band GSM transmit filtering. This overall reduction in component count helps customers minimize costs when developing competitive, multi-band 3G handsets.

Stuart Laval, Product Marketing Manager at TriQuint noted, "Our flip-chip technology enables an incredibly small form factor and superior electrical performance, helping customers to utilize precious board space for rich features while optimizing battery utilization. Customers are impressed with the elegant design of the TQM7M5012; TriQuint is seeing significant demand from a diverse customer base."
