My Tiffany Lamp Launches Blog for Stained Glass Enthusiasts

Reston, VA (PRWEB) April 4, 2008 -- When Hugo Lembert originally launched www.MyTiffanyLamp.com, it was to make shopping for Tiffany items both fast and easy for customers with an eye for stylish décor. "For centuries, the stained glass form of art has served to add a lot of character and beauty to homes, and I have a great appreciation for the style," explains Hugo, himself a true enthusiast. "I think that regular folks like myself, though, cannot actually assess craftsmanship and quality. What I love about this art form is that it blends in and adds beauty and character to any room motif, arrangement, or décor. The buying process is arduous for many of us, as so many mass-produced items have infiltrated the market. I decided to put together a list of Tiffany-style table lamps, floor lamps, wall sconces, and stained glass artwork on the site. A lot of folks are under the impression that this type of product is very expensive, but in reality they're not; there are Tiffany products out there that are affordable. What I've done is made an effort to simplify the process."

The buying experience has never been easier, but the educational process is of equal importance, which has led Hugo to open his new blog at www.MyTiffanyLamp.net. "I think that the blog will be more of an informational tool for anyone who appreciates these works of art, but really doesn't know anything about them," explains Hugo, who is dedicated to acting as a source of information. "I would hope that we can get some of the artists involved in a discussion, answering some of those questions. Right now I have two artists that are working with me, and I have met them both in person and seen their work. I take a look at their work and I put myself in someone else's shoes -- not necessarily someone who is an expert in Tiffany-style lighting or stained glass artwork. I'm just a regular guy going and taking a look at their works of art, and if I see what I like, I'll ask them to post them on my site. I want to be able to share that with people."

The blog will also be instrumental in explaining the quality and craft of the products available from My Tiffany Lamps. "Our Tiffany lighting products are all handcrafted and custom-made by Meyda Tiffany and by local independent artists," says Hugo. "We do not carry items that are manufactured outside of the United States -- we firmly support local craftsmanship."

While Meyda Tiffany is the primary designer of the lamp products, it is that commitment to local artists that truly sets My Tiffany Lamps apart, and which will be a major topic of discussion on www.MyTiffanyLamp.net. "I have a business relationship with both of my current artists," explains Hugo. "One is providing stained glass windows, and the other is creating -- from her garage -- handcrafted, custom-made window corners. The goal is to get more artists involved, and hopefully have them interacting with one another. My intention is to provide a platform that can help these artists expose their work and sell them through the site. I want to align myself with other stained glass artists and provide a meaningful platform where that community can really reach out to the general public."

Of course, the blog will also be used to help people select the perfect stained glass lamp for their needs. As Hugo explains, "Right now, My Tiffany is new, and the site itself is very simple. If you go to other sites, you're just bombarded with images and pricing, and you're on information overload. I've already seen all ten thousand Tiffany products online, and of those I've selected maybe 300 that would fit our criteria, those being affordability, quality, elegance, and of course being made in the USA by either a recognized brand like Meyda or by independent artists. We're going to provide the best selection of affordable Tiffany lamp fixtures out there, and align ourselves with the local artistic community."
