Online Video Production Agency Celebrates Decade of Business Success

Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) July 23, 2007 -- Prizm, an online video production agency, is celebrating a decade of business success. The past six months, the husband-and-wife team moved their staff and video company into a larger space at Screenland Theatre in Kansas City, expanded staff and launched new digital storytelling products (www.prizmproductions.com).

"There are a lot of changes occurring within our industry and company," said Lori Baerg, CEO of Prizm. "Since 2001, our team has been anticipating the rise of the Internet as a primary vehicle of communication for businesses to reach consumers. Today, Prizm equips companies with their own 'broadcast station,' or interactive video website, which is their window to the world," explained Baerg.

Prizm was founded as a video production company in 1997, focusing on strategic communication, retention, results and positive messaging in the areas of live event production, television show creation and corporate messaging. Lori and Dave Baerg drew on their 20 years of experience in broadcast production and passion for storytelling to launch and grow the business. During the course of the last 10 years, the Baerg's have positioned their company to withstand the evolutionary changes of the broadcast production industry.

"The broadcast production maturity curve can be traced back to the to the motion picture business," explained Lori Baerg. "Television grew as an offshoot of motion pictures. We have stayed ahead of our competition by anticipating a similar growth of television and the Internet and reinventing our business in online video, digital media and digital storytelling. This has positioned Prizm to maintain a progressive reputation as a national industry leader," she said.

And it was this reputation that captured the attention of Andrew Loos, associate consultant for business development of Nationwide Cremation Consulting and Training. "Not only is Prizm an industry leader in what they do, but they have made us industry leaders by utilizing their technology," said Loos.

Loos retained Prizm for his company and for 15 of the top cremation and alternative death care businesses across the nation. "We asked Prizm to integrate a passionate message delivered by a Human Host and online video on 15 of our websites (www.heartlandcremation.com)," he said. "Since we operate around the clock, this was the next best way for families to experience us without us being there to explain their funeral options at 2 a.m."

Competition is fierce as marketing and advertising firms fight to survive within an Internet-driven society. Locally, Prizm is the only online video or E-marketing agency with expertise in broadcast communication and strategic communications (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN8dTRQ6Azs). "This expertise sets us apart from our local and national competitors as well as the new E-marketing products we are launching," said Lori Baerg.

Baerg explained that online media is a challenging place for companies to play. "The Internet is constantly changing our business, vocabulary and technology. What we say, do or use today may be outdated by tomorrow. For example, online video is becoming an outdated term as digital media moves to replace it. This is as a more accurate description of how digital storytelling and narrative marketing incorporate online video and strategic communication on the Web," said Baerg.

To facilitate growth and development, Prizm hired three new employees: Corey Wedel, Doug Johnston and KC Ham. Wedel is serving as business development strategist. He has 12 years professional experience and holds a master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Emporia State University. Johnston is joining the team in July as a digital media designer. He has a bachelor's degree in Electronic Arts from Southwest Missouri State University. Ham is serving as production editor. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Missouri State University in Mass Media.

Prizm is an online video production agency, specializing in digital media, digital storytelling and narrative marketing. The Kansas City-based agency provides a full suite of services from conception to completion.
